I just downloaded the zip and indeed it doesn't seem to work xD We planned to release an updated version of the demo (on Steam) for the game when it will come out of Early Access. For now, you can wishlist the game on Steam if you want to wait for the demo or a sale (there will be one very soon).
The current build here on itch has been out for so long (2 years ago!?). It is so outdated compare to what we have on steam. I often forgot that we have a build there, that's why it took me so long to answer xD.
Thanks again for the bug report and don't hesitate to wait a few weeks before buying it if you are interested 😄

Very nice, but I can't seem to rotate the ships around in the demo.
